Where It All Starts
Point of View

Evolution is a personal and professional goal of mine.

Inspiration comes from people, nature, and the world around me and at large.

I value ethical design that delivers quality through analysis, research, experience, and strategy. I believe that intelligent design reasons with people, context, time, function, form, aesthetics, and budget without being boring. Design should communicate purpose, style, and personality. While function may be approached first, form should hold equal consideration. Pattern, color, proportion, and texture play a crucial role in expression.

Life After College

Jobs and paid internships were hard to get during this time. Despite the struggle, I still managed to intern and work for Interior Design & Architecture firms. I also interned with a non-profit Art Center. While I gained some knowledge of Fashion Retail and Visual Merchandising working for American Eagle during college, I furthered my understanding working for Urban Outfitters and Nordstrom after college and learned about all aspects of running a store while working a local boutique. Repping Mary Kay was my introduction into the world of Cosmetic product knowledge, application, and sales. With time in between these gigs, I began my many social media sites as a hobby and got better at photography and storytelling. My frustration with the job market and time spent in Fashion Retail inspired a t-shirt design and the launch of my Etsy shop. I also re-designed my website for the first time, since initially creating a website in college to show-case my college portfolio. This advanced my knowledge of web design and code, while sharing real world designs.

Really Getting Started

Dissatisfied with opportunities or lack thereof and low pay, I began working independently in Interior Design and developing my social media accounts while beginning my journey into Hospitality as a Hilton Front Desk Agent. I also started contracting for a Marketing company as a 3D Designer, developing 3D models for client Trade-shows. Clients included Anheuser-Busch, Nando’s, Barnes Jewish Hospital, and Sparkling Ice.

Hold Up

When the Pandemic hit, the world went into a confused frenzy and many company lay-offs began. I was no exception to this. After my initial Pandemic lay-off from the Hilton, I continued working the front desk during the tail end of Covid, but with less hours given to it and started as a third party Merchandiser. I merchandised for companies like Macy’s, FedEx, Five Below, and Target. My social media accounts were highly developed at this time and companies began reaching out to Collab during Covid. I eventually started working with brands like ManiMe, Bliss Beauty, Facetory, Ferver, Maree, Mellow Cosmetics, Flexliving, Leilani Shells, Anthony Veer, Blueland, and Nathan James. I also worked part-time designing custom closets while merchandising, eventually leaving both to begin a job as an Interior Designer/Furniture Specialist in the Interiors Dept. of Office Depot. I still worked for Hilton, but seldomly. I started rebranding myself and rebuilding my website.

For Better or Worse: Taking the Reins

After losing my job with Office Depot, my knowledge in Hospitality, gained at the Hilton Front Desk, made taking the job as a Reservations Coordinator for Crowne Plaza a nearly seamless transition. While working the hotel, I am also continuing to contract for companies and partner with brands, while working independently in Interior Design. With my background in Design, interest in Fashion, and much time spent in Fashion Retail, along with my plethora of other acquired skills, I have decided to continue my education and launch my own Fashion Line, The Idealist. This website has also gone live, obviously, with a rebranding to illustrate more of what I do under one roof. I have started traveling more and hope to continue. I love sharing my adventures on my social media channels.
